Carlos Rodriguez has been with Premier Alliances for four years, working his way up to Crew Leader over a year ago.
“I make sure the job gets done. I work with a lot of people,” Carlos said.
His diverse work experience helps him in his supervisory role, such as when he worked with a number of refugee while employed as a supervisor of a hotel.
“I worked with people from Bosnia, Czechoslovakia, El Salvador. Some spoke Spanish, but had a different culture. The Bosnians didn’t speak English or Spanish. I learned a little of their language,” he said.
That experience helped him to develop his leadership style while leading a grounds maintenance crew on Fort Huachuca. “I tell them, ‘we’re a team.’”
His job provide opportunities to experience things he may not normally encounter, from local wildlife, to the military technology that operates on the Army installation.
“I tell myself, sometimes it’s like an adventure. I see things that I wouldn’t normally see, the different airplanes and drones. I never imagined I would see those things in my life.”
